I bought an amethyst

May 2nd, 2005 - Posted by Alan Howard

While I was in Taupo last weekend, I spotted a new age shop and just had to go into it.  In my explorations of the shop I found a bunch of crystals on leather necklaces, and remembered to when I used to have an amethyst crystal on a necklace when I first got into spirituality around 13 years ago.  I had it for a few years before it cracked.  I decided to get one again, to see if it would bring more spirituality into my life, just like the last one did.  I finally got around to getting Deidre helping me to put it on, on Saturday (today's Monday).  Or maybe it was yesterday…  sometime on the weekend anyway!  I'm curious what kind of psychic or spiritual development I'll now start to see in my life again.

Deidre and I were going to go to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (HHGTTG) on Saturday night, but it just didn't work out as I would have liked.  We were going to a dinner at her sailing club, celebrating end of season and also handing out awards and recognitions for the season.  It was supposed to finish by 8:30pm, so we arranged with some friends of mine to go to the 9:10pm session of HHGTTG.  Unfortunately, she got the times a little wrong, and it didn't end until 9:30pm.  So we paid for tickets (my friend Garry pre-bought them in the afternoon) that we didn't use.  I caught up with Garry yesterday in Starbucks and he gave me the tickets.  I tried to talk the cinema into exchanging them for tickets to last night's session instead, but they refused to budge on their policy: if you don't use it, you lose it.  Ah well.  Deidre's going to pay Garry back 'cause it was her fault (her words).  Luckily Garry got the tickets via a book of tickets, so they were $11 each instead of $14.  And Deidre and I are going to see the movie tomorrow night by ourselves.  I think I should buy the tickets today, as it's probably going to be busy.

I'm definitely in the very first relationship of my life that feels so stable and secure.  It's awesome.  I can't say anything more than that.
