Hi Chance. I'm sorry you miss the political stuff, but it's good that you understand why I stopped doing it.

As for blogging... I really have no idea how it's going to change over the next 40 years. Trying to predict over the next 5 years is next to impossible, with the way things change.

But of course, I'll have a guess...

I think there'll be a lot more video blogging in the future, but it'll probably be holographic as well. There'll be the inclusion of 'reality blogging', or whatever they'll call it, where the holographic blog will also include experiences that the blogger has gone through.

Imagine taking your holo-recorder with you as you walk around through life, and then each night you edit the day's events into a holoblog entry, so that people can feel like they're there with you, as you do a voiceover or a guided tour of the day's experiences.

That's my guess as to where I see blogging going... :-)

Alan,
I was taken with your comment that you plan to keep blogging until you die. How do you think the form will change or not change over the next 40 years. I'm old enough that the notion of "blogging" or instant publishing was essentially not a possibility when I was twenty.

I miss your political stuff at times, it was always nice to see the perspective on US politics of a regular person from another hemisphere. I do understand though how it can seem futile and feel negative at times.
