I’ve been doing website design as a hobby for around a decade now, on and off. As a result of just dabbling in it, I’m not up to the high standards of many professional website designers, but I think I’m good enough. I used to be a freelance website designer between 1996-98, before I changed careers and moved more into IT support. Since 1998, however, in my spare time I’ve worked on my own websites, and more recently, my blogs.

I knew there was a drought in Australia, but I wasn’t aware of how significant it was. Most of Australia are experiencing critical water shortages, to the point that the country is starting to engage in efforts to recycle sewerage water. Many cities get their water from huge dams that store it up and allow processing for major urban areas. Most dams around the country are getting to the point that there’s less than 20% of their capacity. The drought has been going for over 5 years now, and dams are expected to run dry within the next 2 years.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young
- John Lennon, Happy Christmas (War is over)
And so this is Christmas… another year over. This time last year I was in Australia, enjoying a Christmas holiday. My plans around this time last year included: moving back to Australia, and starting a spiritual centre. They didn’t get done in the past year, but in just 5 weeks time, the ‘moving back to Australia’ bit is certainly going to be achieved.

If you live with a passive aggressive partner, I really do understand your pain, as I have been the one causing that same pain in others over the years. Only recently have I begun to understand the effect my passive aggression has been having on other people.
One of the really amazing dynamics of relationships is that people are attracted to their opposites, those who balance them. This dynamic works in mysterious ways, and often without the participants’ knowledge or understanding. So a lazy woman might be with a hard working man, or a quiet man will be with a talkative woman, or a man who resents taking orders will be with a woman who gives orders…

“You’re very lucky, you know,” Serrintha said as she finished applying her Cure Light Wounds spell to Nawen’s arms. When transformed as a giant bird and colliding with the ship’s masts, Nawen had broken her wings - when in human form, these were her arms.
“Luck’s my middle name,” Tarrant said, as he finished tying the rope around Nawen’s unconscious body lying on the floor. He still couldn’t believe how lucky he’d actually been… Nawen had tried chasing him across the deck, but then she tripped over some rope and knocked herself out on the remains of a broken mast. Tarrant was almost ready to believe one of the Gods was looking out for him.

I just realised that while I talk about my personality type, and I provide links to where you can read about the different personality types, I haven’t actually provided a link to where you can find out what your personality type IS!
Sheesh, my apologies.
You can find out by following this link and doing the test.
Once you’ve worked it out, you can visit this page where you can read more information on what your personality type is: The personality types.
What’s your personality type? It’d be great if you could fill out this poll so we can all see the kinds of personalities that visit this site. Thanks!

Well, it seems to be time to move on with my life, and I can’t wait!
I’ve finally been made redundant at work, confirmed early last week. My ‘evil plan’ worked, and by not applying for any other roles during this restructure process, I avoided gaining a new role in the new structure. This meant that they ‘unfortunately’ had to make me redundant. Wooohoooo!
As a result of these changes, Deidre and I are moving to Canberra. The tickets are booked already. We’re flying out of Wellington and into Sydney on the 1st of February.

“I hate them!” Tarrant exclaimed, his eyes glowing red with the force of his anger. He was leaning against his bunk, trying to counter the rolling of the ship they were sailing on.
“Why do you do that?” Serrintha asked him from her bunk. She had given up on countering the rolling motions some time ago, deciding that laying down was a much better idea.
“What?” Tarrant asked.
“Make your eyes glow like that. I know it’s a really simple spell… but don’t you even realise you’re doing it any more?”
