I believe there are 3 important qualities men need to have, and these qualities form the underlying foundations of everything that makes us who we are. Developing these qualities, if you don’t already have them, will bring you success in your dates and relationships with women.

I haven’t had the same focus on world events this past month as I used to. I think I used to be focused on it ’cause I had a lot of time at work. Since I haven’t been working I’ve found all these other things to take up my time - mostly to do with organising the leaving of NZ, and then organising the settling in at Canberra, like living costs, transport, and work.

It’s really interesting how Starbucks provides the same item in different countries, but presents them differently.
I asked for another Chai Latte this morning, but this time I asked for it to be ‘nice and frothy’. Turns out they call that a ‘fry Chai’… short for ‘frothy‘ I guess. So the standard Chai in NZ is frothy milk, but the standard in Canberra is without any froth. If you want it frothy you have to ask for the special version.
Fascinating.
EDIT: seems I misheard them. It’s actually called a ‘dry chai’, which is because it’s with ‘dry milk’… where they froth it all up instead of allowing it to stay liquid.

I found a Starbucks in the centre of Canberra. Nice spot, nice chairs, nice people… not so nice Grande Chai Latte’s though. I’ve had 2 of them now, one last week and one today, and unfortunately they’ve both been the same - too muck milk, not enough froth. Ah well, I’ll persist.
I took some photos while I was there this morning, just to show some of the attractions. Click on the photo to go to the album where you can see all of them.

The other day Deidre and I went to Parliament House, the centre of Australian politics. It was just as we arrived that they blocked off the entrance, and we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for VIP cars to leave. I found out that we were waiting for the President of Finland to leave. I prepared my camera for the show, and managed to get some photos of John Howard, the Australian Prime Minister. Nice.

We’ve been in Canberra just over a week now, and it’s been an interesting time for both Deidre and I. Me, for ‘finding my feet’ again, and Deidre, because now she’s living in a new country. It’s a little frustrating for both of us, because ‘proof of residency’ is required for so many things. We can’t even hire a movie from the video store without providing evidence that we live where we do….

And it’s so good to be back here in Australia!
It’s been an interesting time, this past few days. I came down with food poisoning on the last day in NZ, and still had to run around doing all the last-minute stuff, almost throwing up during dinner (and not able to eat anything), unable to sleep that night, and then the plane flight to Sydney, organising everything along the way, picking up the hire car, then driving to my friend Peter’s place, where I just felt like collapsing. After ‘formal preliminaries’, I collapsed into a bed and slept for a few hours, waking up with an incredible headache from dehydration and just feeling like crap.
