I woke up this morning with a splitting headache… not sure why, but it’s good to have the day off work today. I think I needed it…. In two months of working I haven’t had a single day off (apart from weekends, of course), so this is a nice day for me today.
We’re off to Sydney around lunchtime. We’ll be having lunch at McDonalds in Goulburn, about 45 minutes north of Canberra, on the way to Sydney. It’s become a bit of a tradition for us that we stop for something to eat there while on the way to Sydney.
For anyone that doesn’t know, the leaders of the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) countries are going to be in Sydney from 2nd September. Here’s a few of the things that are really annoying the hell out of me at the moment.
This annoys me because there haven’t been any protests yet, and already everyone who’s against the protests is making it clear that they’ll be violent. How do they know there’s going to be violence unless they are going to make the violence happen?
Over the past few months we’ve been sorting out our furniture and household items. This weekend just gone we finalised quite a few items we’ve been slowly paying off, and we were very happy that our house was finally as we wanted it.
And then today we received an email from our landlord advising us that due to a messy divorce she was having to move out of where she was, and into her house - the one we’re in. We have 8 weeks to find somewhere else to live.
I bought myself a new laptop yesterday, a 17″ MacBook Pro. I was sick to death of Windows Vista. Yes, that’s right, it’s a dog, and everything good I’ve said about it in the past was simply due to an initial state of ignorance. After using it for the past 6 months, I couldn’t handle it any more.
I’m going to Thredbo on Saturday with some friends who are going to be skiing. That’s right, I won’t be skiing myself. But I will be taking photos. And driving in my fun new car. Peter, Chantal and Deidre are going up via a bus package, while one of them (Mel) will be going up with me in the car.
I’m hoping to get some good photos along the way, of the snow and mountains, and people having fun and falling over… Well, having fun at least!
Stay tuned for the photos which will be uploaded to this blog.
Good question! For me it really started last year after I saw The Secret, and I started to change my attitudes and beliefs. It was certainly a conscious decision to change, but an unconscious change was the result.
In November 2006 Deidre and I decided to move back to Australia by February - we gave ourselves 10 weeks. Within the next month a restructure occurred at work, and I engineered a redundancy package. (I think I was one of the first to manage this, and it started a ball rolling for others to take advantage of.) The redundancy payout occurred one month before we left the country. Over the period of December / January, we managed to pull together $30,000 which was just amazing considering we started with practically nothing in the bank account…
When I write a post I categorise it according to the type of content. To the far left you can see the ‘Browse by Category’ section. When you click on a category, a list of recent posts within that categorisation is listed in the centre column. This allows you to click on a listed title and the content of the post is instantly displayed in the main white column.
This method allows you to scroll through the posts according to the category of your interest.
