Holy mother of God!

I had to save the world today, and only just succeeded.

A giant spider wandered into the house. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Happy Australia Day

2 comments January 26th, 2008

Today is Australia Day, where we celebrate the beginning of Australia, which was when the British first settled here in 1788. It's almost midnight on this day, and I thought I should do a post about it. Australia Day is where we celebrate the history of our country, and of being an Australian. We're a proud bunch, and we've achieved a lot over the past 200+ years. I'm proud to be Australian. Always have been, always will be. (Photos coming soon of the Canberra fireworks that I went to tonight.) UPDATE: Here's the photos I promised you.

Borat

Deidre's watching Borat on Foxtel. I started screaming again at the naked wrestling in the hotel room…. That's all I'll say about that.

Inappropriate assumptions

8 comments January 26th, 2008

I 'met' someone recently on Facebook that turned out tonight to have a few issues with me. Apparently I was playing 'games' with them because I'm engaged and yet chatting with them (they're female), and I changed the picture in my profile. This apparently made them believe that I was trying to pretend to be someone else. Oh, and that I had three different message conversations with her over the past week.

1) They're not even a 'friend' of mine in Facebook, and instead they're just an 'application buddy'. Eg. we use the same application, therefore share a common interest, and started talking to each other. We hadn't gotten to the point where I might want to add them as a friend.

Happy anniversary!

Last week Deidre and I celebrated our 3rd year together, after having met each other mid-January 2005. It’s not just amazing, but it’s a wonderful thing that we’re still together after this long. We’re both stubborn and pig-headed, so we’ve had quite a few challenging times. But we both value communication and commitment, which has really helped. And now, 3 years later, we look back with amazement, knowing that we’ve been through some of the most difficult years while getting to know each other, and here we are!

How to clean like a maid

3 comments January 24th, 2008

If you’re like me, you hate cleaning. You hate it so much, you try to avoid it as much as you can. Yep, that’s me!

Well, thanks to this site, you can now learn to clean like a maid and maybe, because you’ll be so much more efficient at it, you might even enjoy it too!

I know, pigs might fly too.

At the very least, being a more efficient cleaner will mean two things:

1. You’ll save money by not having to have a cleaner in any more, and
2. You’ll spend less time doing the cleaning which means you’ll have more time to do what you enjoy doing! Can’t argue with that, right?

6 important qualities of a lasting relationship

2 comments January 23rd, 2008

By relationship, I mean two people coming together in love, choosing to spend their lives together as a couple, partners in crime, all that kind of thing.

In my ‘life of research and practice’, I’ve come to the conclusion that the most important qualities in a lasting relationship are:

  • Hard work
  • Commitment
  • Honesty
  • Openness
  • Understanding
  • Love

What Tarot Card are you?

Some time ago I did a test and found out that I was a Hermit. You can see it here. I thought I’d do the test again to see if I’ve changed, and it seems that I have. What I find interesting is that the card reflects some of what I feel is my purpose this year. Nice!

You are The Hierophant

Divine Wisdom. Manifestation. Explanation. Teaching.

All things relating to education, patience, help from superiors. The Hierophant is often considered to be a Guardian Angel.

New beginnings

This is my first real post on this new blog that’s using Wordpress. All the other posts previous to this have been imported.

I’ve had some real frustrating challenges with this new blog and new domain over the past week or so. I was originally going to set it up with some very good people who own an ISP in the US, and so I began the technical issues with them. However, my friend Ken in NZ decided to get his own hosting setup, so I went with him instead. This meant having to change the technical issues to go with him instead of the others.
